Shopping Made Easier: Compare Products List

When viewing products, the Add to Compare option is available whether you're viewing a single product or an entire category listing. When viewing a listing of multiple products, the Add to Compare link can be found under the ADD TO CART button in Grid view or under the product's short description in List view. If you're viewing a single product, you can find the link right above the Availability box.

The first time you click Add to Compare, a list will be created in the sidebar called the Compare Products List. Products you chose will be added to this list and can be easily removed. You can add as many products as you want, but we recommend only 3 – 5 at a time to make it easier to compare different features.

Once your list is populated with the products you want to review, click the COMPARE button underneath your list. A new window will open letting you easily see side-by-side the differences among the products in you've selected. You can compare the basics such as price and description, but you can also compare more advanced attributes such as width, depth, weight, warranty and more. Our Compare Products List is a great tool to help you decide among similar products, especially if you're torn between 2 or more nearly identical items and aren’t quite sure where their differences lie.

One final benefit of the Compare Products List is that you can print out the resulting chart for later viewing or to share with others if you're still feeling indecisive. There's no need to open multiple browser windows and tabs to compare products, simply use the Add to Compare link and let our website do the rest. At DigitalBuyer.com, we're here to make shopping for office equipment and products as efficient as possible!

Safe Online Shopping Tips from DigitalBuyer.com

When it comes to online shopping, a little common sense can go a long way. If the site just feels "wrong" to you, especially if it has a lot of broken links, missing images, and bad spelling and grammar, you should be wary about giving shopping there.

Make sure you look for contact information. If you find it hard to find a phone number or physical address, ask yourself if the site may have something to hide. Often, an email address is not enough since it may be invalid or go to an inbox that is never answered. You can easily contact DigitalBuyer.com by phone, email or live chat. Our contact information is available on our contact us page.

When providing your credit card or other payment information, look to see that the page you are on is secure. In most web browsers, this is indicated by an icon of a lock up in your address bar or down in the status bar at the bottom of the browser. Also, the web address (URL) of the page you are on should start with "https" instead of the normal "http". If you are uncomfortable giving out your credit card information online, many established websites will take your order over the phone as we do. One disadvantage of phone orders is that unlike online ordering, this is usually not available 24/7. At DigitalBuyer.com, our phone lines are opened Mondays through Fridays from 9AM to 6PM PST.

Other things to look for are a clear return policy and security badges from established verifiers such as Authorize.net, Verisign, Trust Guard, the BBB and other names you recognize.

Tips to Brighten an Office During Winter

You may have noticed that it's a lot darker now when you leave the office. It may also still be dark out when you get up in the morning.

With winter approaching, the days are shorter and, as such, we see a lot less daylight. You may also have to contend with rain, snow and storms as winter approaches. While it may be hard to get out of a warm bed and into the cold, most of us force ourselves upright and trudge along.

If you find yourself slower and feeling more down than usual during this time of year, you're not alone. Many are affected by the change in seasons and daylight, and in severe cases, some may have seasonal affective disorder (S.A.D.)

For most of us, coping with the change in light and weather is made easier by following a few tips for the office:
  • Light - if you relied on natural light before to light your office, now is the time to turn on your office lights, lamps and other electric sources to brighten your work area. Often, a brighter environment can help lead to a brighter mood.
  • Music - if you can, play uplifting and up-tempo music at work and during your commute.
  • Comfort - make sure you are comfortable at work. Being uncomfortable is distracting and can lead you to be less productive and efficient. Make sure your office chair meets your needs and, if you're in a cold office, be sure to bring some sweaters, jackets or even a space heater to keep warm. A wardrobe cabinet or combination storage cabinet would be ideal for storing these when not in use.
  • Greenery - a plant on our around your desk can be a wonderful reminder of greener, brighter times if all you see is gray outside.
Even though the weather may turn colder and bleaker, you have much greater control of your environment inside your office. A few simple changes can help winter move by quickly.

Why Fireproof File Cabinets are the Professional Choice

If you’re putting a document away in a file cabinet, it’s usually because it’s important enough to keep for a long time. Otherwise, you'd probably would not bother filing it to begin with.

If your documents are important enough to be saved, why risk losing them in a fire? Often, what gets filed away are the original copies of very important paperwork. Be it a contract, customer file, photo, birth certificate or something else, you’re bound to have documents that are nearly impossible to replace. Simply putting away these crucial items is not enough. A fireproof filling cabinet will give you the extra peace of mind in knowing that in case of fire, your irreplaceable documents have added protection. As an added bonus, most fireproof file cabinets also come with impact protection (in case of drops, falls, hits) and some models also offer water protection against flooding.

Aetna, one of the nation’s largest insurance companies, knows the importance of prevention and protection in case of the unexpected. It is sadly too easy for a sudden disaster to wipe out a company. Not only does Aetna insure others, but they also make sure to protect themselves and their vital documents.

As stated by Cynthia Balmer, Senior Executive Assistant at Aetna, "All of our offices nationwide are required to store certain vital records in a UL®-rated fireproof filing cabinet. Items such as customer contracts and sensitive internal documents must be protected in the case of a disaster."

She continues by emphasizing the importance of protecting your important documents: "Being in the insurance industry ourselves, we know how important it is to protect these documents because some of them are very difficult, if not impossible, to replace or re-create. All businesses should take the extra precautions to be as prepared as Aetna is."

A fireproof file cabinet is the professional choice by both major corporations and savvy small businesses. With a wide range of sizes, options and prices to suit every budget, there is no reason to not choose a fireproof file cabinet. In fact, considering the serious consequences, can you afford not to?

DigitalBuyer.com offers a wide selection of UL-rated fireproof file cabinets for every need. You'll find file cabinets by trusted manufacturers such as FireKing® and Schwab® at prices 30% - 60% off retail. Click the links below to browse our selection:

Finding Inspiration for Office Design

Are you in charge of designing or redesigning an office? Many modern offices are actually large, wide open spaces that are broken up into smaller work areas. When started with a blank canvas such as a large office suite, you may find yourself uncertain as to how to approach the task of determining the design and layout of the space. Fortunately, there's a lot of resources to help you find inspiration for designing your office.
The simplest place to begin is to look at photos. Perhaps you already have some catalogs lying around for office furniture and equipment. They often have photos of these items in use in office settings. From these photos, you can get ideas for your own office space.

Other great sources for photos of offices are stock image websites. For examples, these photos are from various stock image websites:
With these images, you can get ideas on how you can use office partitions to create work spaces. Also, these offices make excellent use of color which may be something you might incorporate into your own office.

You can also try a Google image search for various keywords to see what images come up. You will probably find several to give you ideas for your own office design. Here's a few searches to get you started:

Be creative with your searches and don't be afraid to look at things you may not end up using. Even if you'll never do a "trendy office design," looking at photos may show you various details or elements you never thought of and would want to use yourself.

Another excellent resource for inspiration which you may not think of is YouTube! In fact, many professional design firms will place videos showcasing their work on YouTube; it's almost as if you can get a professional for free!

Here's just one example of the many videos you can find on YouTube for office interior design:

Just remember, while it may be intimidating to have to design an entire office or office suite, there is a lot of help out there. Most people spend more time in their offices than at home so it is important to create a pleasing and productive environment. However, with a little research you'll find plenty of inspiration to help you along! Good luck and happy designing!
