Finding Inspiration for Office Design

Are you in charge of designing or redesigning an office? Many modern offices are actually large, wide open spaces that are broken up into smaller work areas. When started with a blank canvas such as a large office suite, you may find yourself uncertain as to how to approach the task of determining the design and layout of the space. Fortunately, there's a lot of resources to help you find inspiration for designing your office.
The simplest place to begin is to look at photos. Perhaps you already have some catalogs lying around for office furniture and equipment. They often have photos of these items in use in office settings. From these photos, you can get ideas for your own office space.

Other great sources for photos of offices are stock image websites. For examples, these photos are from various stock image websites:

You can also try a Google image search for various keywords to see what images come up. You will probably find several to give you ideas for your own office design. Here's a few searches to get you started:

Be creative with your searches and don't be afraid to look at things you may not end up using. Even if you'll never do a "trendy office design," looking at photos may show you various details or elements you never thought of and would want to use yourself.

Another excellent resource for inspiration which you may not think of is YouTube! In fact, many professional design firms will place videos showcasing their work on YouTube; it's almost as if you can get a professional for free!

Just remember, while it may be intimidating to have to design an entire office or office suite, there is a lot of help out there. Most people spend more time in their offices than at home so it is important to create a pleasing and productive environment. However, with a little research you'll find plenty of inspiration to help you along! Good luck and happy designing!
